Nice one.View attachment 370483View attachment 370484
I went with the fcuk idea and and used the air compresser as said here put a thick bag over thr hole put thr cap on and give it a little just as I seen it move I stoped then give the same amount as before and just a little more and then stoped again as soon as I heard a pop/movment I done this 3 or 4 times and it was most way there back to normal just not the side that had the crease in it was still sloping that way
So give it all I could with the air but the cap was just letting it all out before the Last bit
Come up so son applied a bit of pressure to thr cap and got thr lid straight but with a small crease to the edge
I'm well happy with the outcome thanks guys to all that added input
Now I've only got to clean the tank of thr surface rust and hope that the the reason why its not running right is the gov spring is rusted away as in thr lower pick as that's what I'm betting on
yea will give the carb a proper clean once ive got time it starts and will just about tick over if i give it a helping hand it will rev ok as well that is why i was thinking springs where to problem i think the kit has 2 springs with it so can always replace theboth as the other one looks likeit had it day as wellLooks like the broken spring is just to stop the linkage rattling, doubt if that will have any effect. Give the carb a clean out. That is the usual problem when those GX120 type engines don't run right. Take care with the black spacers. I spent ages messing with an engine that would barely run, then found the owner had put the spacers in wrongly and it had an air leak between carb and engine.
yea this is flimsy and has a bit of surface rust that i have to look atI’ve got two cheap generators like those in my shed. The tanks are the worst part about them. Very light weight
its the price of the springs that made me do it £1.80 ish delivered china and was on hols for 7 deys so ordered before i went so it was not much moneyThe governor arm spring is just to put tension on the linkage so there is no slack, any spring weight will do the same job.
