How to totally block light through bedroom windows?

Fit a proper blackout blind in a channelled frame in the recess. I worked on one project where we specified blinds to the windows in a large scale college darkroom, so it's entirely possible to get something fitted that will provide complete darkness. If I get a chance this evening I'll try to dig out the details

B&q sell that plastic but the best bet I would say is the black sticky back plastic they sell on the roles for £10 I've got it on my windows but I got the tinted one instead to still let some light in

I think it's coragated plastic it's on big palets I think it's 2m-1m or 3m- 1m

Many years ago I worked nights and had to sleep in the daytime.
My method was to hang a blanket over the curtain rail and then I would tuck the blanket into the window recess.
Doing this created a pitch black room!

I do similar with a duvet cover, just finished a week of nights.

we lived out in our tent for 3 summers while our house was being built, wife insists it was the best sleep she ever had , march til mid october, no way of blocking out light ,your body clock gets used to it over time . it was when we had the hot summer 3or 4years back , everyone said they couldnt sleep as it was too hot indoors ,we were perfect as it was nice n cool under canvas, would tottally recommend it too anyone.

You can buy bloc out blinds and there are other companies doing similar products now.
