I need to silence my compressors

The compressor hut is mostly done. I still need to build a roof and doors but I'll do that once the mortar has had time to get some strength.

What a difference it has made just moving the compressors to the other side of the garage. I haven't even done any sound proofing, what was unbearable noise is now hardly audible! Probably won't even bother with the sound proofing, will see how it sounds on a Sunday morning when everything else is dead silent!

It's all just temporarily wired up and plumbed up at the moment.

I've heard of automatic tan drain valves, they any good? Save me having to keep going out there to drain the tanks.

That is the three stage filter! I put a desiccant filter and valve between stages 1 and 2. That dries the air and also lets me choose if I plug tools in before or after stages 2 & 3. That way I can avoid using stages 2 & 3 which cost a lot on filters.

My neighbours are brilliant.

Mine are too, so I'm lucky. We each have keys to both garages and operate a tool share - every tool is returned after each job. Do lots of projects together as well. He even gave me his cast off chain saw as a moving in gift - I took the hint graciously. Being out in the countryside means you need to be ready help each other.

my 3 stage didn't have the reg, I run a separate reg and filter before and like you can choose to have it connected or not to save on costly filters, only really use it for spraying and breathing air TBH

I upgraded to get the regulator. It's a nice regulator, quick to adjust.

I didn't see that option on ebay but I already had a reg any way so it is not all bad

For controlling the fan, look on eBay for an stc 1000. It's a heating/ cooling controller, costs less that £10 and I used to have one on my marine fish tank. Mine was the same thing but had a badge on for three times the cost.

You just set the temperature range and heating comes on when it drops below a certain temperature (not needed so don't use that relay) and cooling when it goes above. Mine gave 0.1 of a degree increments to play with.

You can either hard wire it in to a switched fused spur or put a plug top on a piece of flex. Then hard wire the fan in or put that on a trailing socket.

I think you can stop them kicking in to often too with a buffer setting. Can't remember the correct name. It's for protecting chillers - possibly the compressors in them.
