I'm real close on the Belt Sander

[1969 Vernon]

The Homemade Belt Sander That I've been building is real close to completion.I painted everything on the bottom half. All I need is some paint on the top and guards, some adjustment Knobs to finsh. Looks pretty good heres some pictures.I now have about 190 hours into it and about $950.00 in materials. When I started this sander had nothing to go by Just pictures and the image in my head of dads and He lives 800 miles south of me. So I had to figure out a ton of things on my own. It was very fun to build. Almost ready for a new project soon.

Project to build a project sounds like good fun however to simply sand something your OTT If you could buy stuff like that companies would just go bust as you would never need to replace them

Have you built/machined everything from scratch or did you have a couple of parts to work from?

I bought the Electric Motor the 2 B-Pullys and belt. I bought 2 2-bolt flange bearings and the top Alum. drum for 6x48 belt made everything else.
