Built the bottom drum for 6 x 48 paper side the ends of the drums are turned from one pcs of metal I will weld them in and crown it.

One needs good tools to build good stuff That's what I tell the wife. Balance is good lol. Would not want to short cut any thing. lol

Looks good, Vernon. How did you go about balancing the top roller ?

I bought that one. Bought the motor and top drum and two 2 bolt flange bearings Made everything else. But will balance the bottom with a ball balancer my freind has one will take picture of it when we do it. We check the wheel but it was so close we left it alone. Thank you Vernon

Building a guard for Belt Sander

Well today I started to design a guard for the belt here is a paper mock up. What do you think or do you have any idea or suggestion. My idea is to build a one pcs guard and allow the paper to not hit the guard if it becomes out of tracking. So many people with this type of Belt Sander said the paper eats up there guards Will try to overcome that problem Also here is my link to the sander: Thank you Vernon

the belt can run off either way. mainly if your pushing the material in off to one side and dont notice the belt moving over . also make it quick release because its a pain in the ar ,..,e changing the belt if u dont
