Nice to see this bike has struck a chord.
It is advertised elsewhere due to the Trumpet arriving both with or without the spares (I’m keeping 1 engine / CDI / Carbs and loom as I have a hankering for a bike engined toy????) but if it doesn’t sell I’ll keep it until next year when the Trumpert is done.
It’s not perfect, there’s a few brackets here and there that could do with paint and there’s a few cracks in the plastics from static drops in the previous owners garage (no crash damage) but it’s quite presentable but could be mint. Plastics appear on eBay in the right colour from time to time but it still turns heads so I’ll continue to use it until it goes.
I think someone has spent time and money getting things like powder coating the frame and swingarm and getting the rims polished and painted in body colour.

That T595 was a good find! Had the same issue with the fairing bracket powder coating failing on my old bike as well, along with the broken quick release fuel tank connectors.. swollen fuel tank from ethanol.. seized rear hub adjuster

They certainly do. I'd quite like a later twin headlight 955i Daytona. Those early 955i engines always had me on edge, they sound like a bag of bolts even when they're perfectly fine, and don't get me started on the sprag clutch

A mate had one with a knackered sprag clutch, full engine strip to access itand don't get me started on the sprag clutch
He was a despatch rider...

Todays work on the trumpet.
After painting the fork lowers it was time to reassemble them with new seals and Fuchs 7.5w oils which after a little investigation is close in spec to the original Showa SS-8 oil which is no longer available.
In true fashion another set of bike specific tools had to be made. First off a nylon seal driver had to be made on the lathe, then using a few items I recently acquired I made a fork level syringe again, the lathe played its part making the plate that the tube goes through (I’ll make this thinner once I have time), then I could start the reassembly. The manual says 579ml of oil then after pumping the damper rod using another home made tool, set the level at 76mm down the tube. Then it was just a case of the reverse of the strip down.
Still need to fit the fork guards though! Doh!
Also offered up my re-zinc plated front spindle and bolt.
My fork tool set is growing at least. I think I’ll made a new seal driver too from ally. The nylon one got me out of the **** and was quick to turn on my baby Atlas lathe.
