I am presently rebuilding a classic car and whilst I appreciate there are dedicated forums covering this activity - I am often faced with machining challenges that I would appreciate being able to discuss and ask guidance upon.
So - is this the right forum for this, or have I got the wrong impression?

Welcome to the forum, yep it's a welding forum but most of us have engineering backgrounds or interests, welding, turning, milling, electronics and anything you can think of really.

Ask any question you like, there's probably someone here who can answer it..

Where do babies come from.

They come from 10 minutes of fun we enjoy when the brain gets starved of blood, then we have to pay for years n years and endur some pain along the way...

just dont ask a question about a project with out posting a few pics we like pics on here if you can get a background pic of an old car or rare tool or inc a pic of a masive tool chest that normaly helps get the answers coming and with in at least 2 pages of answers we would have compleatly gone off and back on the question answered at least a few times

Wow !!! What a welcome - many thanks to all - I most certainly "want some of this"
I'll post later with some pictures of what I have been up to - and what I am up against.
Answer to Wallace, (above), I am rebuilding a 73 Lotus Europa that I bought in pieces some 20 years ago when I had no time and more money than sense - now retired I have lots of time, more sense but not more money....
