Is it a DIY job to add connectors to rubber air hose?

I need (well, "want" may be more accurate) a couple of lengths of air hose that are longer than the 60cm whip leads and shorter than the 10m full hoses.

But no matter what search terms I put into google, I can't find what this collection of metal is called;

As per the title, is it a DIY job to cut rubber hose and fit end connectors to them?
Can I use one of these, for example, and a jubilee clip?

(compressor is max-rated at 150psi if that is important)

Yikes the crimp tools for air hoses are nae cheap! Little change out of £100 or more.

i used to use pinches to do the ear clips in a vice

or rest one side of pinches on vice or bench etc.
then smack other side with hammer to squeeze them

since then i bought the pliers to do cv boot clips

so may well do the ear clips too. not tried yet though

O clips are better that jubilee clips for hose IMO.

I had a job where we were using half inch reinforced water hose onto quick release couplings to supply cooling water to plant. We were running off a high pressure main and the hoses kept de-laminating at the ends and busting. We noticed that it only happened on the hoses that had jubilee clips fitted - the ones crimped with o-clips never had that same problem.

Ear clips (O clips).

I have a special pair of Knipex pliers for them.

But you could use, steel fixers knips or a nail removing pincers at a push.

I believe the original double ear clips are Oetiker, I have used these for many years with excellent results,
We used to use the reusable fittings mentioned by Paul on hydraulic pipework, Not perfect for this duty but good emergency repair gear.

Just pop into a local hydraulics place and they'll make them up to your spec, prob for not a lot.
