Is it a DIY job to add connectors to rubber air hose?

Be aware that not only can you get barbed connectors with a male/female thread such as the one you've shown, but also with male or female PCL couplers as well - if you're putting on some kind of quick release coupler you needn't buy two parts for the same job.

I find O/ear clips quite good, and they don't cost much. Decent quality jubilee clips do the job as well but aren't as nice. Best used where it may need to come off again.

I have come across some that are utterly shocking and the teeth that the screw engages with simply bend. Utterly useless, I've found them in cheap packs with a selection of sizes.

Jubilee type clips pull the wall of the hose around as they tighten whereas o-clips just compress it inwards. Much kinder to the fabric of the hose. In fact, on my last project we had some burning plant with a couple of jubilee clips fixing hose ends and they made us take it out of service until we swapped them for o-clips.

I whip my hose ends with stainless wire. Half an inch of whipping over a push connector and it won't ever leak or come off.

I like the look of that but no, similar I guess but I just whip it by winding a tight coil of stainless wire. I'll see if I can't find a pic.
