It explains why the UK is being hit harder than mainland Europe by the current situation.Shame that the quote has nothing do with the current situation

So you would rather poison the atmosphere with CO2?The main reason is where all stupid here and think that poisoning the whole environment with nuclear waste is better.
In fact where that stupid we let the French build there reactors here......
have you seen the price of helium thought about a bottle for playing withMost helium is a by-product of oil exploration. It quickly dispersed through the atmosphere and up up and away.
Scary!
not round here your not we have enough chemical works about and not going to have the water supply contaminated as wellNot overly surprised, we had to buy next years fertiliser now, to secure it at the current price, which is already alarmingly high.
Bring on fracking
Coal was pretty much the only energy source for the entire planets population before the first half of last century and at a time when there was no alternative and knowledge of pollution and it’s effects etc was still in its infancy. So you would rather poison the atmosphere with CO2?
Do you realise 1 London smog killed more people than nuclear power ever has?
Look at Aberfan and all the mine disasters.
Why don't people demand coal is banned?

I think you could expect change from £ 500.0 .My son works for the company that was performing the actual fracking in Blackpool. The limits set for ground vibrations were so low it was almost impossible to do anything.
If Blackpool did have an earthquake, the insurance claim would be less than £500.
Seems an ideal green idiot project... co2 removal from the atmosphere..... could call it green co2
400ppm is not really difficult if we can extract helium at 5ppm......
Funny that you're a NIMBY about one thing but advocate dumping rubbish illegally in another.not round here your not we have enough chemical works about and not going to have the water supply contaminated as well
nirex wanted to dump the nuclear waste in the anhydrate mines at billingham that **** was soon stopped in its tracks by residents a bit of crap dumped is nothing compared to dangerous waste that cant be cleaned up or poluted water supply and earthquakes i bet you wouldnt like it if they were fracking around your water supply or house . its just big companys wanting to make a profit then leave a clear up for the taxpayerFunny that you're a NIMBY about one thing but advocate dumping rubbish illegally in another.
A token effort nothing more.A direct capture plant opened a couple of weeks ago. It's called Orca, It's "The worlds largest climate-positive direct air capture plant", with a capacity of 4000 tonnes of CO2 extracted per year, powered by renewable geothermal power.
I can't make up my mind on it, on the one hand anything that has a positive effect on climate change has to be a good thing, but at the same time, I can't help thinking that undisclosed amount of geothermal power is effectively wasted removing such an insignificant amount of CO2 - It would take nine million more plants like it to keep up with the world's CO2 production! It'll probably take all year to offset it's own construction CO2e emissions.
I wonder what it would take to process the CO2 captured there (Or from any coal or gas CCS plant) into industrially useful gas rather than trapping it in saline aquifers.
Now use the power more sensibly and run the plant on excess overnight wind generwtionA direct capture plant opened a couple of weeks ago. Are they trying to claim the Tsunami was caused by global warming and the use of fossil fuels now and nothing to do with seismic activity.........There were less than 10 deaths from the radiation leak at the Fukushima nuclear plant. 18500 died from the actual Tsunami.
No don't think so.Are they trying to claim the Tsunami was caused by global warming and the use of fossil fuels now and nothing to do with seismic activity.........
