Managed to draw somthing in fusion 360 and get it to the printer
1st bit of 3d cad ever... and after watching a tutorial the day before that made my head explode
Not a good print, as quite small and not a lot of material there.
Only took 40 mjns to print
Now to try something i need

Another use for a printer is to make templates or check things are right before CNC’ing them.

I would say that your nozzle temperature may be a bit high unless that is PETg?

I have refined the long drawer now. The wall thickness has been reduced to 0.8mm throughout and I have radiused all of the edges. I am currently printing a sample in transparent PLA. I have attached the .stl file in .rar format for anyone who wants it.

My lad printed in 0.3mm layers he said earlier, a lot to do with why it was a bit gappy I think. Hence why it only took an hour to print. Going to get him to do another at 0.1mm.

Got to really sort all my small parts once and for all so need to see how many I need to print.

I have t realy played with the printer for a good few weeks, I’ve had some other stuff going on that’s consumed a lot of time, haven’t even seen the play pen

For anyone who wants to print the long drawer, it WILL need support switching on. As I suspected, it couldn't print the handle in mid air, although it did better than I expected.

Adding a 45 degree underneath the handle may help with printing without supports but it would still have to bridge the gap for the flat area

It may even be possible to extend it around the corner slightly to help

Thought I would share this in-case it helps anybody else.

I was in the process of upgrading a few bits on my Ender 3 (dual drive extruder, capricorn ptfe and stronger springs) when I noticed that the hot end carriage was a bit loose.
I've not noticed it before and I had many successful prints. I'm printing some thin wall parts for an RC plane and now I notice every slight imperfection.
Anyway, I was getting this snake like skin effect on the flat layer on my prints (only sometimes). I always put this down to bed temperature differences but thinking about it, the temperature cant be that different in such a small area.
There are some nuts with an offset/lobe on them for the parts that sit on carriages, if you loosen up the nuts and rotate those lobes it tightens up the carriage to the rail.
I did mine last night and I'm getting much better prints already. I suspect the loose carrige of the hotend was allowing the print nozzle to drift away from where it should be.
