I have had a fiddle and found that the extrusion was set back at default 93 even though I know I saved the new figure of 137.7. Just trying a small print now of an extruder knob and it crashed with "nozzle over temperature". It seems to have re-started OK though.

If the extrusion figure was that low, would I not have seen major defects and gaps in the main body?

Some hose couplers in TPU. A bit hairy but they seem pretty tough and fit.

looks like a better print. I used 3DLAC for this one. It still needed to be left in the freezer overnight to release from the bed. The printer crashed during the second layer too, but it seemed OK after a reboot.

Green silk PLA from Noulei via Amazon. Expensive but I couldn't find Jade green silk anywhere else.

I have red gold, silver, light blue and green silk in stock now. Just in time for printing lots of Christmas tat! I have a blue Chameleon printing at the moment, due to being too disorientated to ride into work today.

I am still seeing intermittent nozzle over temperature errors. I'm wondering if the thermistor is not making good thermal contact, it is only pushed into a bigger hole after all? Toying with getting some thermal paste and putting some in there.

Never ever printed a Benchy is one of the missing.

Thermal paste sometimes does magic.
They are a bit sensitive so replacing it if thermal paste doesn't do it would be my choice.

Does it need a different thermistor type? Definitely try some paste.

Are able to run octoprint so you can see a data plot of what the nozzle temperature is doing?

Suitable Raspberry Pi of your choice, USB power supply for the Pi, USB cable (with 5V wire cut/pin taped over), and an SD card.
You can also add a webcam if you'd like.

Note, that you can skip step 5, provided the Pi boots OK and you managed to configure your network correctly.

I went for a Pi 4B 2GB, and got it as a starter kit from thepihut.com .

I've also added a small touch screen, as I wanted to run OctoDash, but have so far failed to get the touch screen functionality working.
I'm actually on the second screen. First GPIO one killed the Pi Hub whenever the relevant screen files were installed. The current HDMI screen displays without additional files as it uses the native HDMI, but I still can't get the touchscreen drivers to work.
For setup, you can just plug in whatever HDMI monitor/screen you have, along with a keyboard if needed, but provided you manage to configure the network correctly, the screen doesn't really tell you anything, as unless you install additional plugins to get a UI, it's just a terminal window.

I don't think that I would be allowed to show you today's creation! It is a pen holder but rather than a chameleon, it is more Human based. That is all I can say.

However, the point of the post is to tell you about my ABS experiments again. I printed some P clips in sizes that I can't buy and decided to do them in ABS. They are perfect! Temperature up to 255C and 110C for the bed and no adhesive. My next test was a small version of the aformentioned pen holder. I left the infill at 100% accidentally and besides it taking forever, the skin started to show a crack about half an inch up. My belief is that the thermal mass of a solid ABS print didn't help.

The good ABS prints...

The failures, the ABS unenclosed and the red PLA printed upright and unsuitable material for the purpose of course.

I am currently printing another small test of the pen holder in gold PLA.

Now this is interesting... The pen holder test finished but has ABS contamination in it!
