That was with the machine on full power man haha and I'm the only fabricator at this firm unfortunately the guy that left in January was always telling me how crap the machine was I guess he's right its just a junker haha
yeah, i think your best bet is to try and get another mig sorted...if that is the best weld that can be produced with it then i would suggest finding something a bit better
Would a clamp meter on the return be any use to measure the current? Wouldn't be massively accurate I don't think but would show anything vastly wrong...
Think you need to look at a new machine.
Give Phil weeks a call at Warriormig.com Dave if you looking for a industrial quality Mig welder. I have the 250A single phase warrior for 3 years plus but he also builds 330a 3 phase and 350a single phase. I just ordered a new 350a single phase warrior from him.
250A is Beast of a machine, they are specced and built in Bath not Chinese.
He just buys the stuff in and builds them to order. Siemens IGBTS for the inverter inside etc. Real good kit and independent from the major brands
Cheers will look into it keep in mind this is my workplaces machine and they have no intention of buying me a new one to work with. I will definitely keep it in mind though for myself when I'm buying one
No mate, I know the esab warrior.
Phil weeks warriors welders were around even before Esab released that multi process warrior. It's just a coincidence.
