Joton-Jotamastic primer questions.

I use ally measuring/stir sticks, and mix direct in paint cups. Need something substantial for this stuff.

Think there's 6:1 andf 4:1? Winter/summer. Did wonder if it's the same hardener, just more or less of it.

winter hardner is thick like syrup and a same colour too..golden look like engine oil?

I found one of those large medical type syringe things with no needle i used for other jobs before now and that has up to 60 mm, im sure that will be ok to use for measuring it.

I am going to recoat the next day, i was advised this from paints for trade btw.

Looks like a trip to mackie dee's is in order then lol.

I was told to mix 175mm of hardener with 1ltr of primer, does this sound about right to you ?

I was also told i have 2 hours before it goes off when it cant be painted with anymore ?

Im thinking of getting a paint kettle for mixing them together, then using the plastic measuring cups usually used for paint mixing, to measure 1ltr pf primer and 175mm of hardener.

Any ideas on how what to use to measure 175mm of the hardener ?

Best to use a measuring stick, they cost buttons or they might even give you one.

Yeah to represent turning the clock back having to redo it all again, better this time though, its all sorted bar a few bits and cleaning etc.

I'l try googling 'measuring stick' this time and see what i come up with, or i'l use mackie dee's coffee sticks and some stainless steel wire, to make a criss cross stirrer. Then pop over to burger king and get myself a cheapo whopper and feel more full up

im sure you can find something localy ...disposable drinking cups , spoons , ladel , anything to dish it out into a tub , then stir it up

Any half decent paint factors will have them or just mark a stick yourself

I go to Tesco and buy nylon measuring jugs at 35p each for measuring, I use them for fibreglass work as well. They clean up easily and you throw them away when they get too messy.

I was thinking of getting a glass jug from my local Wilko's, which will last longer, to measure the 1 ltr i will be using for the first coat. Then get myself a wooden spoon for mixing, nothing fancy but does that job.

I already have some flash surface rusting on the floor pan, wont take long to get rid just before i apply this primer. Ill use my DA sander with 60 grit to key the steel surface beforehand as well.

There has been a lot of talk about Jotun Jotamastic primer but no actual thread about it, so i hope this helps others in future.

Money saving tip for ya, get paint mixing cups £5 for 50, will do the same job
