Just trying to finish up the last of the odd jobs before the body can go on. Getting close now

I will maybe try bleed again tomorrow if wedging it down hasn't helped.

Also the mess occurs when I miss the filler bottle which is not the easiest of places to get into!

The reservoir is a pain to top up.

With regard to bleeding, I've used a Motive Products bleeder but I find that once you have fluid in it will burp itself out. If you leave the cap off and pump the pedal really quickly sometimes for a few minutes you will get the air out. If everything is new then sometimes you will get a good pedal and it can deteriorate in use. Jamming the pedal down usually sorts it.

on old well used master cylinders pumping the pedal right down to the floor can sometimes damage the seals resulting in not being able to get a good pedal

Hi, Pressurising the system was a trick used back in the day but it is just that, a trick. Leaving it pressurised overnight gave a good pedal the next day but it wouldn't last because all it did was force the air into the fluid which would come out again over a period. It was most noticable on the brakes because you could get more pressure, with the clutch you could only get limited pressure from the clutch spring.

But by pressurising, and getting the air 'into the fluid' you could then continue to bleed, hence bringing in new unaerated fluid so keeping a hard pedal.

Not too much, need to fix four doors when I get the other three. Then getting everything I can galvanised. Pretty much be ready then.
