To be honest, I’ve never liked him. Always come across as thinking he’s better than everyone and everything.

A little accident in his direction wouldn’t be a bad thing, nothing serious, just something to shake him up a bit

Lewis is the king of petrol heads and is of course in no position to preach. However, he is in a position to help, he just needs to discover what direction that may be, it is most certainly not ecology. Thankfully there are plenty of other disasters he could get on his high horse to lead a charge. Poverty and famine might be a good start, plastic waste perhaps. He has the money and the fame to make a difference and as his career tails off, clearly he is beginning to feel a twinge of guilt and find a conscience. I still rate him as both a driver and a role model, he just has to find some worthy cause that doesn't bite the hand that feeds him.

He could start by paying his taxes. i stopped caring about F1 once I realised most of the british drivers "live" in Monaco.

I still work at Rye House kart track where Lewis had his first race as a novice and won it. The late Martin Hines of Zip Karts asked him after the race, how long have you been racing. He told Martin it was his first race. He's a very nice person, comes back to the track and his brother is here every week if he's not in cars. You only see one fragment of him on a media box. They are all a victim of media but unless you actually know them personally, the opinion you form is invariably wrong. Ash Sutton who is a BTCC champion is also a personal friend and still works at Rye House. He's the most down to earth lad and we've been in races together with my Son. They've tried to blame karting for mass pollution bus a London bus pushed out more pollution in a day than our karts in a whole year. Any of the F1 drivers who started in karts and drove at Rye House, are great when they visit.

the space race has paid for itself many times over.
and the technology which is getting "pretty puctures" from hubble is also allowing medical imaging to spot all sorts of ailments *much* earlier than before.

And to be fair if the consumption of the planet continues at its current rate space might be our only means of survival I do like those pretty pictures from space so I'm all for it, glad I'm not paying the bill every time they fire up one of those rockets though

I am afraid the SciFi future for humans "colonising" the universe is just that, a fiction. There are far too many unsurmountable problems both scientific factual issues and of course, psychological barriers which would have any sizeable group of humans at each others throats within a generation.

As for terraforming a planet or setting up a base on the moon etc. That's just silly. We have a perfectly good planet here already and neither Mars nor Venus are going to change any time soon, no matter what we try and do with them. The Moon is a "good" prospect but only because it's so close to the Earth. The moons of Jupiter have been mooted as potential habitable zones but you'd have to enjoy being cold. Very cold. Ice in those outer regions is more like hardened carbon steel.

What about the exoplanets? Well, they're too far away, not that we have even found one yet. Faster than light travel is out of the question. It is impossible, therefore we are stuck within a radius of say 100 light years. It is kind of disappointing I know but we are stuck here on this microscopic speck of dust in an unimaginably huge universe and there's no getting away from it; here we are and here we stay.

Apart from the hypocrisy of celebrities endorsing extinction rebellion while still using private jets, what annoys me about this is that the solution to climate change proposed by extinction rebellion is never mentioned and most people are probably unaware of it. They want to end capitalism and implement socialism.

While I agree that factories churning out wonky plastic tat that is used once and either breaks or is thrown out isn't doing the environment any favours, I am not in favour of sneaking socialism in through the back door

I agree as we simply don't have the number of years required to do it before the planet implodes but given long enough who knows.

In medieval times most of them would probably be saying that even just flying let alone flying and leaving the planet was purely only ever going to be fiction.

In Cyprus they don’t recycle and give out plastic bags in every shop

There are recycling points on the island but it’s not a top priority for them

Not sure on other islands like Greece etc but felt odd throwing everything in the same bin

I ‘used’ to love Rossi and lost all respect for him for this move on Marquez

I have always been a Honda fan and feel gutted about BSB and TT for the past two years

^ Marquez was leaning on him so he kicked out. Plus he had been deliberately getting in his way for a few laps to screw up any chance of the championship. I can't think of many times Rossi's been the bad man in many years of racing, but Marquez is a very different matter.

I'm not into bike racing but the door was left wide open there was also loads of room on the outside but the outside rider made a very clear movement to touch the guy on the inside. There was clearly no need for that and there is no way he didn't know he was there.
