reminds me of the time I was changing tungstens while tigging some 6mm ali... bare hands, elbows resting on table, accidentally squeezed the button
aaaaand woke up about 30 seconds later with a fuzzy sensation in my tongue!

Can't post the piccy, but some joker let off a CO2 fire extinguisher at a party, in a small room full of people.
I ignorantly picked it up by the horn, still discharging, and carried it out into the garden. One of my fingers was in the discharge stream, and it got cold-burned to the actual bone. No pain.. until it thawed out a minute later, then it was excruciating.. .. my first and last cold burn, it took months to heal.

They’ve faded quite well now but back in (I think) 2001 I was feeding some rubberised material onto a tyre-building drum with the applicator tray down. My hand was pulled into a gap of around 20mm up to my mid forearm. I was trying to pull my hand out but my foot was still on the pedal, driving the drum backwards taking skin off my forearm.
I ripped the back of my hand right open in two places. I could see the tendons moving as I wiggled my fingers.
It took a while to regain full grip strength but fortunately no major damage. As it healed the tendons stuck to the scar tissue but after a while they seemed to release and other than tingling if I touched it all was fine.
The most painful part of it was having it cleaned in A&E, I went into mild shock.

I had a drill slip and go into my leg. Didn't learn and drilled thought the nail bed of my thumb years later. Nail has a large ridge down the middle. Also there was the time welding a car sill that MIG splatter went into my ear and caused two perforations to the drum.
Managed to have 3 major incidents.
All involving my left thumb.
Sliced in half lengthways with Stanley blade.
Impacted between hub and club hammer at full force trying to do a wheel bearing,
And cut into with hardpoint saw.
All of which involved trips to a+e for clean up and reattachment of flaps/bits.

A few years ago my dad sliced his thumb open on a worn plough point, a year to the day later he sliced the same thumb again with a stanley knife, a year to the day from then he didn't slice it open, this time he crushed it between a gate and a wall.

Would have been back in 97 ladders slipped while handling some 3mm stainless sheet into a paint plant tunnel section for a new pre-wash modification we had been working on landed on the floor. Had slid a left hand along the sheared sheet edg took the back off of two fingers tendons the lot back to the bone, right-hand thumb straight through a hook from a conveyer hanger tendon gone as well. If you are going to do something you might as well do it properly.
Left the flaps went back quite well but had lots of problems with scar tissue so several operations in the palms to deal with that. function ok but one won't bend right back to but doesn't make any real difference.
Accident in Telford but was transferred to Oswestry on the Welsh border for surgery, then home to the burns and plastics in Billericay just before it was closed and moved to its current location in Chelmsford. My consultant back in Essex was at the time the chairman for the British Association for hand surgery, they had to look back in old books to find the best method to remove the fine stainless steel wire threaded through each end of the tendons and attached to plastic buttons outside to join the tendons they had been using a different technique with plastic wire for 20 odd years, and couldn't believe it was still in use.
Thumb has a full function but still tingly and not full sensation, makes feeding small diameter tig rod tricky.
Doesn't look much now but took a couple of years work to get everything working again, rehabilitation in the plastics department hours and days spent playing solitaire with clothes pegs getting function back, sitting with hand in boxes of lentils/rice to help stimulate nerve endings.
Lots of ultrasound to break down scar tissue internally.

Not an accident but I ended up with carpol tunnel syndrome quite badly and had to have release surgery, I still say it was through using this thing for hours a day over 15 years!!
The fettlers are on timers now, No more than 20mins in 8 hours!
It's the best thing i've had done, The relief was instant!, Eventually I can play my geetar for more than five mins before my digits getting tingly and feeling like cumberland sausages!!
When I lost the flesh pad on my finger, It was replaced with a bit of my forearm, If I use abrasive paper for too long the soft bit of skin wears out, This is the result!!
Can repair the little **Language** and nicks myself!!
I once had a spark go down the back of my neck using the oxy lance, It burned little brown marks down my back, It then stopped at my belt so I opened my belt, It ended up in my pants and burning one of me orbs then travelled down and stopped in me boot!!, Another time opening a ladle, A spark bounced off my shoulder, Went right down my my ear, Burned through the drum and I had to spit it out!, Tasted like i'd been licking a rusty old 1970's vauxhall Victor
