With what should I Dremel it, dear Liza?
i made the same mistake only the other week when fitting tiles in the otherhalf parents houseSome progress has been made, but I have made a cock up that someone might have a solution for...
I was going to use 6mm quadrant on the edges until I found that it was too shallow so I ripped it out as much as I could whilst the adhesive was going off. I had pinned it in a few places so now I have pieces of the plastic left behind. That is not a big issue because I can just trim the flange of the new quadrant to miss it.
The big issue is that there is now too much tile for the 9mm quadrant to fit behind. I estimate that I need to trim off 5mm+ from the exposed tile edges for it all to fit together nicely. The tiles cannot be removed so whatever I do has to be in situ. I have pondered various ideas, an aluminium straight edge and then scribing the waste, followed by tapping the edge with a hammer?
A diamond disc in an angry grinder, except that I can't have water flowing and I cannot go right to the top without ceiling damage?
Grinding the edge somehow? A manual file has little impression apart from chipping the tile edge finish.

they are fairly slow going but don't press hard and keep moving in a back and forward motion seamed to work
to be honest i dont know as i was only looking for extra depth and what i cut was goimg to be covered by the socket (as much as i can remember was not bad)Great stuff. What sort of edge finish did you get?
scrape it back while its still soft wont go rock hard for at least a dayWell this is getting a bit OTT now. I poured another coat of leveller, went in perfectly and looked good. When I checked ten minutes later, the dips were back in the corners. Looks like there must have been holes there which have just drained away the level. I can't put any more in, so I will just have to try adjusting the level when tiling.

That done, I poured what was left into the hearth that was miles out. I carefully dammed it with a large piece of wood and some Plumbers Mait to seal it. I poured it in and then had to chase the puddles where the seal was inadequate. Also the level is now too high against the existing tiles,

I just suggested white Metro tiles to 'indoors... "It will look like a public lavatory". Much as I hate to agree, she does have a point. I'm not sure how "Bloke's Railway Station Bog" ever became fashionable?
