I got a price for a lad at work last year - M pro 252 control pro for £1930 + VAT, bare machine. Was hinted that the 3 phase variants are cheaper (the 250).How much is an m pro now, any ex demos around
It should only need a voltage adjustment till you get the kind of arc you are looking for.Sorry to jump in on this thread resurrection, but I’m interested in the comments regarding the adjustments required to cater for Argoshield.
I have one of these machines and I’ve always felt that the settings were a little ‘off’ and I did wonder if it was due to the gas mix.
@Brad93 @matt1978 any ideas what needs to be adjusted? I’m hoping that there’s a hidden knob to twiddle somewhere, or a s/w update that will do the biz.
As always, all advice much appreciated!I

@Windy Miller it's the same with nearly all synergic machines, you have to trim something to account for minor differences between wire and gas compositions, sometimes even a bad earth will throw your settings a bit away from perfect...
I assume with those machines it will be the wirespeed you tweak for trim, rather than the voltage.
yup.Bare

didnt you get yours from @Badger1bearSorry to jump in on this thread resurrection, but I’m interested in the comments regarding the adjustments required to cater for Argoshield.

Yep! Sure did!didnt you get yours from @Badger1bear
I know what your saying fyfes down the road are selling the little jasic migs which look alrightyup.
Expensive compared to the likes of an Esab C251 at £1350, but I wouldn't have one of those Esabs given, they're far far more cheaply made.
Surley if it was a problem @Badger1bear would have had it or adjusted it himself?Yep! Sure did!
I will have to have a look too then. I know there is a chart for something insideThe selector switch inside is where you select the wire type/dia/gas mix combo. If your using a diff gas mix from the shown inside the machine then you just select the nearest match, then put the voltage down on one of the lower settings, adjust the wire feed rate until you get a nice crisp dip transfer then when you move the voltage switch up through the range the wirefeed will adjust upwards pro rata. You shouldn’t need to adjust the wire feed after you’ve matched it to you particular wire/gas mix
Thanks @matt1978 - I’ll give that a try!The selector switch inside is where you select the wire type/dia/gas mix combo. Did you try your one windy? Thanks @matt1978 - I’ll give that a try!
My mpro has been by far the best 240v mig I've owned and I've had a few. Purchased mine in 2012 I think and Havnt felt a need to change it.
Sounds like a dead short somewhere. Maybe the 12 pos switch.its my best mig too, mine does have a weird problem now, when I select power 12 and pull the trigger on the torch it trips my 32A B curve breaker even without a arc.
maybe not quite sure how old I got it off of here 2nd hand from Badger, maybe ill pull the switch and try cleanner on it. I should really take the cover off and give it a blow through and hooverSounds like a dead short somewhere. Maybe the 12 pos switch.
how old is your unit?
