Weve used that site a few times and sometimes there is, what could be, cannon fire? Is it cannon fire or something else.I live about a mile away. It's quite entertaining some nights with ospreys apache's and parachute flares.

The first time I saw the Osprey I thought it was a drone until I realised it wasnt that close so it was actually massive.
Its a lovely site BTW but theres no toilet block. I like a good shower. There is one in the van but its not the same, so we never stay long.......
must be that...6 miles wowIf you mean the low thump sounds that shake the ground that's when they fire heavy artillery shells into the training area from outside firing points. There's one at Grimes graves and one at roudham. They fire shells a good six miles over roads but not over any housing. There's also mortars and machine gun fire that you can hear. We get to go on a stanta tour every few years and there's old tanks in the impact areas that they aim at. Even though they are inert shells they still make a mess of them.
