If this is a fake then Makita Uk Direct will be the place to go/ask, if the seller is trying it on then they will just swap for a genuine one.Contact the seller first, they should deal with it for you.
Can you send me some pics?
Please
To be honest. Everything else of mine is really good quality. It’s just the saw.
Never had an issue with dewalt. Always been bomb proof. Recently started acquiring new gen 18v gear and its all spot on.I would certainly get that exchanged/make a fuss - that''s unacceptable.
I've been looking at routers over the last day or so. I've always favoured Makita for my own tools. The Makita router i looked at yesterday was badly finished - I didn't notice any particular problems with the edges of the casings but they were very flexible and the tool had a really cheap feel to it. I'm quite sure I could have damaged or pressed in the casing with two thumbs if i had tried.
The flip side - I bought a Makita drill a fornight ago for work, and seemed a solid construction.
Trend or Dewalt for me I think.
Even my cheap Makita reciprocating daw is perfect. This was only £70

Best router ive owned and still own years later is the Hitachi m12 v2
Id probably replace like for like or with this one.
V2 has a screw you can engage for fine depth adjustment but tbh ive rarely used it.

It's their MT series, targeting DIY customers with a lower price (made in China). Compare Bosch blue and green.Red and black?!
Made to look like Hilti?
