Hi new here looking for the size of the oil seal for my meddings f14 and any Manual

I have never been able to find a proper manual for the Meddings M4/MF4 drills.

The most I could find is the parts list and one page worth of manual.

There is no 'perfect' size oil seal replacement available anymore. You can either go for a 25mm ID seal or a 24mm ID seal (25mm might leak, 24mm might wear out quickly because it is too tight).

I think both my M4 drills are now fitted with 24mm ID seals.

If, like me, you find the High/Low gearbox handle keeps falling out of high gear (damaging the Tufnol gear) then this is the part that needs to be replaced.

Part 119 and Part 120.
(I have a spare set if anyone needs some)

The balls are ⅛” ball bearings and the spring is... TBA

Mine has started dropping out of high gear. I was going to a stop on the lever to keep it in high range but this would add extra wear on the selector, so info on the spring would be useful.

I have sold this drill now.

What i do have is one spare spring for the detent of the backgear.

It cost me a fortune from meddings what with their minimum order charge of £45.

Would sell it for £5 posted.

You'd need to buy the two small ball bearings. ⅛" they are.

Unfortunately two shot off across the workshop, before i realised there was an easier way of loading the balls into the shaft and sliding the gear over them.
