I have not repaired the furnace control box yet. I need to make up a plastic insulator for the scr unit.
I started sanding the element form smooth and sieved lots of sand, but not much else last week.

Could you use that mould then but with a different medium?
As I said earlier the latest photogrammetry attempt was an abject failure, maybe due to flash against a speckly old blackboard background.
Ordered a white tent thing from Amazon.
Might get up there Thursday if it comes but if not then Friday.....then Saturday to make sure.....

Nothing from that video can be used, but with 12k views and 45k subscribers he will be earning from it
However the one you printed will be perfect, I'll start on it soon. I need to make more space as I cant get to the lathe or tig at the moment

Took the light box to the pub Saturday night and dragged No.1 son up to take cow pics. Bribed him with Rosie's Pig and the pub cat!
The best cow rendition yet but the other side not so good. Using the free version of 3DF Zepyhr.
Interesting how the program "rejects" some photos which you'd think perfectly useable.
It's like we're "missing" a couple of shots on the lhs of the head to stitch everything together.
@JMS1972 , can you combine pics from two different cameras (in our case phones)?
Next visit we'll take the lightbox and laptop and try and crack it.

As an interesting aside, whilst processing the images in 3DF Zephyr I suggested to my lad he try mirroring good, rhs photos where we seemed to missing info on the lhs.
It worked as in we got a resulting image but it was an unusable, scary, symmetrical alien creature at the end of the processing.
In the same way beautiful people with symmetrical faces scare me!

I think you can combine them as long as the software recognises the two cameras when you import the pictures, if not there is a way of combining two point clouds but I've not done it myself with Zephyr. Try it?

Yes, it did form part of an inebriated discussion. Getting it to stand still in the lightbox was the biggest issue we could forsee.
Getting the cow into the bar was easy enough but then it fell off the table squashing a punter...

I bought the furnace wool, but haven't got round to trying it out. My 10 yr+ refractory is practically useless now. It was a alumina (ultra fast setting) cement, silica sand, perlite and bentonite mix.
But takes weeks to dry out properly. Had 1 explosion years back on first attempts and that was one too many.

Ta. You can't mix meshes in the free Zephyr.
This 50 photo limit...I wonder if it's deliberate? We've about 150 photos in total. Can get a good view of either side.
Just got a great one showing both sides but the chin area is now no good!
But can't get it "all" to look good.
The cynic in me says it's to make you buy the full version.

Emboldened by two pints of Henry Weston's last night, my lad brought a cow home from the pub (he did ask nicely).
I quickly knocked up 6 sheets of A4, taped together, with segments marked at 15 degrees.
Took 24 photos around the perimeter, 12 from above and 12 from below.
Ran through Zephyr.
Didn't work!
