MOT Welding Requirements

Hi,

well...

it's possible, if you move it slightly back and forth as you pump a sealant gun, to make it look just like weld.

With a bit of underseal on it you can only tell by poking it with a screwdriver...

or so I've been told.

Ought to try runing those welds with a bit of shielding gas superbad. Makes welding much easier.

I replaced the rear X member on my Discovery for the last MOT, (I patched it the last two years) the MOT man insisted it should be seam welded, I explained about the crumple zone, and then pointed out it actually WAS seam welded under the underseal.
