This is really interesting . Im looking to learn a new skill that I could earn a bit of money with one day a week as I only work 4 days a week . It looks really interesting I imagine there would be a good few potential markets like bike tanks and of course all kinds of classic cars . I imagine the e type front must be worth a fair few quid

Yeah definitely. Geoff sells the e-type front end for £5 or £6k, can't remember which exactly but it does takes him about a month to make one so there is a lot of work and skill that goes into one.
Personally would love to see more guys in the UK doing metal shaping and then we could organise metal meets to share skills like they do in the US and Europe. I'm off to Denmark next year for a Metal Meet. Holy moly 5k is quiet a paycheck. I was going to do a paintless dent removal course but iv swayed away from the idea as the market here in ireland is fairly small and there is already quiet a few well established pdr guys in my county alone. How long do you think it will be before ur making sale worthy pieces ? Are you still finding it interesting
I am loving it, I resto cars for a living mostly old vw but doing this so I can start taking on other more difficult work, as for making money from it that will depend on how skilled you are with metal all ready I have been welding and repairing cars for about 18 years and I would say I have about a 10% of the skills Geoff has so will depend on how you want to make money from it.
When I get back from the course on the weekend I will upload the photos of the cobra totrod I am making the panels for down here.
It might be worth you looking up lazze metal shaping on YouTube I have picked up loads of hints and tip from there

It's not really, he's got materials, rent, electric, his helper etc all as outgoings so if all he was to do was 12 front ends then that's only £60k turnover.
You could make door skins, easy repair panels etc with a bit of practice, a lot depends on how quickly you pick it up and how good your other skills are like your welding etc. Metal shaping is really enjoyable and really satisfying.
Well had a cracking time down with Geoff all ready planing a return trip next year.. he had done a fair bit of work on the ferrari since i was there last here are a few pics of it

I’ve been privileged to spend a few days with Geoff at MPH Motor Panels last week. What an experience!
Geoff is an excellent teacher, supremely patient, and really personable. He’s been doing this craft for around four decades, and it shows. I’m stuck on a panel, ask for help, and with about three strokes on the wheeling machine it’s corrected. He then kindly says I must have been near. Hah!
There were a couple of Elevens in the shop getting new bodywork (including Graham Hill’s old ride), and full and part completed E-Type bonnets in alloy.
I’m trying to remember the sage advice that I was showered with all week. The one-liners that make sense of this craft. Might try to (mis)quote a few here for fun.
I was also delighted to have use of Len Pritchard’s wheeling machine - a precision device that turned out some lovely shapes, even when used by a thorough dunce.
Bottom line: if you have an interest in wheeling, get yourself down to Liskeard for a few days in the company of one of the few remaining masters. It’s a fabulous part of the world, accommodation is easy to find nearby (I used the Permier Inn), and you’ll learn more than you imagine in a few days.
I will definitely go back for some more wheeling in the future.

I've been looking at this course myself after seeing lots of coverage of MPH on certain youtube videos. Nice to see some feedback on it - gives me the impetus to actually get in touch and make a booking- we have family nearby so it makes it much easier.
