hi all apologies for lack of updates on thisjust a quick update. the cortina has been filled sanded, epoxied guide coated, primed guide coated and sanded smooth
front subframe dropped out and engine bay painted in 2k

came out ok though
next job is painting the door shuts then the outer shell. will update when done
This is my kind of project....thanks for the update. Each to his own in terms of projects and methods but I think it's impressive that you've done the forming with such basic tools. Thanks for sharing....I'm going to hunt down my old bolsters and move them into the metal work cupboard!! It takes quite a bit of thinking and problem solving to repurpose what you have to do a job.
Fantastic thread, i'm really impressed by the quality of your work @ian f It gives me hope that i'll be able to achieve something similar with my project car one day
Thats an excellent result on the paint....you must be very happy. Again, anyone can go out and spend thousands on paint gear and get a fantastic result every time....it's takes some ingenuity to do it on a budget and get a very good result + I think it gives us all hope that good results can be achieved if we put some effort in.
Well done and keep the pictures coming.
I did my car with a rattle can...it was good enough for me for now + if it gets a scratch I can very easily fix it. May buy a HVLP system in future...but thats for another day!
