This is why i use tanking slurry on block now, It is an extra time and cost but i rarely have issues after i use it.A bit pointless until I can stop it coming through the walls. It needs a few good coats of paint followed by a week or two of dry weather to allow it to dry thoroughly. A gutter should make a big difference, it's only being washed off where there is consistent water dripping in the same places. Gutter got delivered today so hope I can get some time to install it before going back offshore.
That Pop was amazing before i got to the under bonnet picture, Is there a build or details to this beauty.Got one good coat all round today, then ran out of paint, finished the blocking inside. Made a start fitting the LED fittings and wiring back to a Wago box. Just final connections tomorrow and borrow a supply for the lighting from the old garage and we will have lights at least.

Also met @jsf55 today who called in on his way past with his absolutely stunning Ford Pop. Without a doubt the nicest sounding car I have ever heard! Aural porn! It was nice to meet you John.

At some point i will be starting a thread but it will be very slow as this beetle is on the back burners back burner..and i am still on the hunt for parts.Nice, an oval too! You gonna start a thread?
yes, and yes. its how i did mine. Can you just do the inside of the blocks then and just paint over it?
Do you have a link to that on Ebay, I have been looking for something to chop multi materials for a while but i always worry about how well they cut metal as i have always been use to only cutting woodBack home now and I purchased a Bott tool cabinet last week which matches one of my existing ones with the intention of building a bench in front of the window. I have some short 9x3’s here long enough for sturdy legs and 8x2’s for a bench top so a plan has been formulating in my mind and I ordered some 4x2 PSE planed timber time make the remainder of the frame. I’d like to get the floor finished first with some epoxy but the blocks in the wall are still wet and the floor can wait.
Here’s my rough plans made earlier, excuse the colouring .

To achieve it I bought a refurbished Evolution Rage S300 cross compound single bevel mitre saw with a 300mm throat from eBay, boxed for £91.

Be interested to hear how you get on with the evolution rage, mine didn’t inspire me much the one and only time I tried it on steel. Just after I got it I tried to cut the first scrap bit of steel I had to hand. Said steel was shortly no longer to hand as it was swiftly launched out of the back of the saw and halfway across the garden. Saying that it’s been great otherwise so can’t complain, I’ll have to try again with something a bit bigger.
