M@tt will you be filling the air gaps in the block work to help keep the warmth in??
the block work will actually be under the concrete floor as its just part of the retaining wall (the actual garage/workshop will be made from wood and the walls will be insulated) but i'll be filling the ones with rebar in with concrete to tie the wall to the footing and then when the base is poured on top the bits of rebar sticking out of the top will tie all of that to the floor so hopefully it wont be going anywhere
hope that makes sense
Brilliant build Matt , really nice work!!
Looking good Matt.
Matt why did you put the wall foundation concrete in over some WPM black plastic you had laid in the trench ( I've never seen that done before )?
I feel it will just be a pocket of plastic to hold any ground water or drain down water that is not taken away by your drain pipes & will have a tendancy to wick up the wall to the true DPC.
very minor update
managed to clear most of the rocks/rubble soil etc into a 8 tonne skip over the weekend. Not the best job for last saturday by hand when it was about 27 degrees!!. I was starting to hallucinate by the end of it!
