I think a bad review is fair enough, i'm not asking for money back (not that i'd get it) Just didn't want him trying anything like damaging cars etc so just wanted it noted to the cops that they'd been very aggressive in case they did something stupid

I would contact the freeindex team aswell they are very strict about false feedback & they dont like freeindex having a connection with cowboys.
All feedback can be traced if they false they get blacklisted.

I did this after using a local plumber from the freeindex site about a month after registering my business he now is blacklisted and it only took a couple of days for them to sort it out for me.
I never got my money back of the plumber but he had his gas safe cert removed & local trading standards got him about 9 months later for operating without the gas safe cert, what goes around comes around!

He cant sue you because you have photograpic evidence to show the builder is a useless knob.

right well ive been plodding on slowly but surely, hopefully it should all come together fairly quickly from now on

i spent the weekend finishing some of the brick work and the anchors to tie the stud walls to the brickwork. Initially i had just cemented them in but as soon as i tightened the nuts up the studs would just twist in the mortar and pull out, so i got some 2 part epoxy resin called anchorset which went rock solid and held the studs really securely.

Once the anchor studs were secure i could bolt down the wall plates and make a start on the rest of the framework.

I started with the garage door frame and a roof truss template





and thats we're i'm up to at the moment. Weather permitting i'll have a crack at it every evening this week

right well i managed to make some real progress today. I packed the missus and child off to london on the train for the day at 7.22am and they weren't due back till 10.30pm so i had the full day on building. woo hoo!!

I've got i'd say 90% of the wall frames done, there are just a few uprights that need finishing and also a couple more window header and footer cross members need screwing into place as well as some noggins between the uprights for power sockets etc to screw to.

cheers chaps, yep shouldn't be too long (hopefully). I've got more timber arriving tomorrow for the roof trusses so that will be the next job

The garage measures 9.6m x 3m so plenty of room for tinkering on my 205's

I've gone for waney edge/lap boards for the cladding which should give it a nice rustic look and in keeping with the old look of our old house , i've got 85 of them coming a week on monday so i've got some time to get the frame wrapped in a breather membrane before fitting them.

today only saw a little bit of progress as i had "family" stuff to do

i finished making the windows frames and knocked up my own patent pending jig for cutting the truss timbers





so thats it for now

update time

using my super handy jig i knocked up 17 trusses the other night and then today i had the fun task of installing them all.

Its starting to look like a garage/workshop now, and its big!!









tomorrows job is cutting and installing the roof boards

The collars are just screwed to the rafters at the moment with a couple of large screws. I have some nail plates that I'm going to use though today before I fit the roof boards.

Well i managed to get half the roof on today, i'm going to have to leave the other half till after i've clad the side wall that runs down the neighbours fench as i will need to lean over the top of the wall to nail the cladding onto the studwork.

Them sheets are heavier than they look as well!! i got a right sweat on lifting them into place on my own half way up a step ladder

well i've cut the roof sheets and rafters to size with a circular saw and using a couple of 4.8m lengths of wood screwed to the roof in a straight line to act as a guide.

and tonight i've made a start wrapping the outside in breather membrane. I've got further than this but it was dark when i finished so will have to take a better pic tomorrow

well the cladding has arrived!!

i think i might have ordered a bit too much looking at it but we'll have to see. I'm going to have a fun job sorting it out and truing some of them up to roughly the same size and a bit more parallel but that'll be this weekends task
