YEP those plastic safety plugs make it much easier to wire drills like that, saves having to use matchsticks.all this talk of electrical sockets reminds be of this old Public Information Film
ive go both of those although the adaptor has a pull switch, ive also got the round 2 pin plug that fits into a bayonet adaptorI remember my mum ironing with a bayonet plug on the iron, she used to take the bulb out and connect the iron in until we where posh, and we got an adapter so she could have light as well![]()

and you only had around 4 fuses if you were luckyWHEN you come to think 40 years ago just how dangerous it was in the 'modern' house, most things used those light adapters--- most with with broken bayonet pins hanging in and shorting and flashing and nobody gave it a second thought. and most of the CU fuses were wired with 20 or 30 amp wire to save the problem of them blowing.
HOW ARE WE STILL ALIVE !!
HEHE doesnt work----- I had a faulty brass socket in the hall that the pins didnt hold in properly and as a quick safety remedy put tape on the socket came to it the next day and someone had plugged in through the tape!! the thing was the socket connectors worked better WITH the tape !!Safety covers are available on a roll.
Most probably because most people don't like being preached at by a self proclaimed expert who can't be bothered to set out his argument in his opening statement but just assumes we will do as he instructs? Now, my question to you, why are you so hell bent on trying to prove that these stupid devices are acceptable?
We had lead cable, fuses on both the live & neutral, how dangerous is that, blow the neutral fuse & the circuit stays live, 2 amp, 5 amp, & 15 3 pin sockets & a couple of 10 amp two pin sockets. This lot was used until my mother died 20 years ago. No she wasn't electrocuted!and you only had around 4 fuses if you were lucky
ring down, ring up, and 1 each for lighting circuits
