nhs sharing your details opting out

Just had my second C19 jab and dropped my dissent form off at the GP at the same time for me and my family, they had a fair pile of forms to process.

Now to fill in the form for our other health records too. Should take 10 minutes tops, this one is email or post.

What's interesting is depending what you want to believe you will end up believing that.

I for one would rather believe the outcome of what I can see with my own eyes. If this is internet based that's fine. (Will need a few sources though)

In fact I would rather do my own research than a guy on TV who literally can't say YES or NO.

The medical data could have a positive or negative effect. If you suffer from something and you don't tell the insurance company they probably won't pay out. Therefore you buy a policy that covers that pre existing condition. If they know you have it you cannot omit telling them (as you had forgotten or something) . It is all down to perspective.

The seemingly well informed video clip that i posted earlier, that examines the situation in America, states that there are individuals in America who simply cant get health cover due to their conditions.

If we move toward a similar scheme, which, arguably, this is a precursor to, then there will be those whom private healthcare just deems they cant make a profit from.

Those people who have such conditions would have to declare them anyway else the insurance companies would just declare their policy void, so this data is almost irrelevant in that situation.

Sorry, you missed my point. Your statement is entirely correct!

But my point was that the sell off of data is, and i said "arguably" a step toward a US style model.

Now why is this - is it that Government is too incompetent to run a water distribution network, or is there some other reason? I mean you have to ask this, surely?

And now we are talking as to if its a good idea to be selling off yet more of the NHS?


American health care is way way more expensive, per capita, than the nationalise UK model, so theres certainly no cost saving to be had. Folk in america also die when they cant afford cover and simple drugs like insulin, so its not like the cover is somehow more inclusive.

So then, what is the possible motivation for the continued sale?

Its either that the government is to incompetent to run the service (in which case, do you want them running anything at all??) OR there is some other reason.
That's the basic question.

I am one of those people. I cannot change my life insurance policy provider as it covers me if anything crops up since I took it out. My mrs will be able to claim the money as my problems have come about since taking it out. I could not get cover now as I would have to declare and they would decline.

all weve seen is bills go up and up and now we are forced to build nuclear power station funded by the public to be paid by the public

I have worked for US companies for about 15 years, the fear of losing your job and hence your health insurance amongst my US colleagues is tangible. But it is not only insurance, a colleague in NY is having treatment for throat cancer, he had a lump removed surgically and he's just finished chemo/radiation therapy. He had chemo/radiation on a Monday and radiation for the remaining 4 weekdays. This went on for about 8 weeks if my memory serves me correctly. With travelling it was 6 hours off work on Monday, and 4 hours the other 4 days. He couldn't book all this as medical/sick leave otherwise he would have to apply for disability benefit and stop work during treatment, he didn't want the financial hit or enforced idleness, he loves his job. So he had to book some of his vacation time to split up the sick leave. I think he used about 12 days in total. He's now out of the chemo/radiation and on hydration treatment which is less frequent. He could do with a proper vacation soon, he likes the island of Aruba, unfortunately he's almost out of vacation days....

Employee sick benefit changes from state to state however a colleague in Illinois had a similar experience with a malignant eye tumour. He couldn't afford the cut in pay so used his vacation time to break up his sick leave and worked through his treatment.

When I had my pituitary tumour and subsequent brain op, I had 10 weeks off work to recuperate, no problem, no additional stress when you need it least.

Unfortunately turkeys keep voting for Christmas, so American style health care and continued erosion of workers rights are inevitable. Centene, a US medical company, are now the biggest UK primary care provider via their Operose subsidiary. The outgoing Operose Chief Exec has just become an expert government advisor on NHS transformation - AKA privatisation.

Well, my lad was due to get his 2nd covid jab next Saturday, just inside the 2 months gap...
Today they sent him a text to say their records show he already had the 2nd jab... (wrong)...
So they've cancelled it

& say if there's a problem, ring our GP.

Go on to the web based booking prtal. It should tell you what his jab status is and allow you to book the next appointment.

The issue is usually the admin experts that have miss entered the information. It can be as simple as one digit out

So the computer doesn't know, then, if he's had 1 or 2 or none...????
And who sent the cancellation text?
They said in the text, to contact GP, not "start booking" again.

Still waiting for the promised call back from the GP rather than trusting the above.

When you get to the end of the process it says something like -

So, whilst there's no mention of which appointment prior to the end, the computer setup does actually know.
