I did think of dong it that way but that would mean spending about £17 more at B&Q prices for the smaller more flexible pipe, my old one i used would not have been long enough. So 2 £6.99's is cheaper than one pipe at £6.99 and one £17 pipe

I wont because i know they are there for a good reason, they can easily be removed when im not due to do any spraying then hang them up to the ceiling with MiG welding wire, out of the way.

I forgot to mention, i rang Shiremoor up a said that i only have the small connectors and the machine has the euro type fitments, they sent me out lots of connectors so i could use my tools etc, good company imv.

Can somone tell me why the cylinder has oil residue coming out and recently the water traps has a lot more in them an smells of oil? Its a new compressor and was told via woman at shiremore the rings will be fine an said she will call back, this was before the bank holiday too, not that happy with the service really or oil coming out the machine.

Is it because its a new machine?

I've got an old 50 litre SIP with a very similar pump and it only has small foam filters screwed to the head. It's never passed any oil from the pump to the lines and doesn't make that much water either in reasonable weather. Have you got too much oil in it as they are only splash lubricated and shouldn't get that much oil near the rings to go past them.

The oil is what the shop had put in when i bought it, not touched it yet and some has come out the oil breaather filter pipe thing. It could be my over sencitive nose, iv smelt gas leaks when the gas engineers machine didnt trace any from next doors grill.

Im getting some nice water traps etc from an air compressor shop i found in Leicester, they look like inline ones that seem far better than the old ones iv been using, the water coming out the air gun etc is due to them being a bit old and cruddy. Iv been using Machine mart ones, not anymore, im going to the leicester one from now on for air parts.

Today i got my self some quality inline filters and realised the compressor was at maximum pressure, not set around 50psi. I set it at 50psi and not had any water droplets in the filters at all, i think the lower output has somehow stopped the water from the cylinder coming through.

The water coming out the cylinder after use did have a faint smell of compressor oil.
