Thanks for the speedy responses gents. Don't want to bog the Optrel thread down but just because I was looking for a comparison will dump couple of video reviews I have just found for the GYS Alien which may help someone decide. If it's marginal between the 2 I think I will go with the GYS as I can afford right now and it's available on Amazon now for only £80.
If thread owner wants me to delete the reviews, will do no problem.

It looks good for the price, I would say it is similar to the Phantom XL I had but without being able to see what it is like when welding I can't say much more.

Yep for size of viewing aperture and the true colour lark going to give it a whirl and one of the guys in the review is a pro and reckons it's a great piece of kit. The potential issue I see is that despite it offering a similar clear view of the weld as the Optrel, the overall quality and durability may not be there beyond a few months or so but for £80 and the potential it has, right now it beats my old nodding donkey flip lid.
