I believe the 'HD' mixer is the same for acetylene and propane, whilst the 'lightweight' mixer for smaller nozzles, is the acetylene only one.I bought a propane mixer for my type 5 shank, only to be told after I'd queried tge fact that it had acetylene stamped on it, that they're the same beast.
Yes, and yes.

Are you saying you made clean cuts on propane using acetylene nozzles?Success, cutting with my acetylene nozzles gave clean cuts on 6 & 30mm,easy as before to set up plus no soot, wish I’d made this transition years ago as I haven’t welded for years and only braise a couple times a year,no more high rent after the end of September .
Do I need to change the O rings in the torch? Thanks for the confirmation.
It's easier if you rest the nozzle against a piece of scrap steel, with the flame playing across the plate somewhat parallel, before you open the oxygen.I don't find the correct nozzles any easier to adjust.
I'm aware of that. It's easier if you rest the nozzle against a piece of scrap steel, with the flame playing across the plate somewhat parallel, before you open the oxygen.
I don't know why it is, but it is in my experience.
