EBC , bit more spendy but a choice of grade as well .buy british
Stopped using EBC when the pad material delaminated from the metal backing on the first the car and then the motorbike rear causing a lock up. I'll never use them again.EBC , bit more spendy but a choice of grade as well .buy british
Jurid, who are OEM manufacturers are often confused with Pagid - that said, there are suppliers who I would not buy anything from, ECP, Autodoc and SCL come to mind, their buyers seem to not care if they are second line parts or outright fakes.
Whatever it is, if it matters, buy genuine.
I would say that brakes, tyres and steering are the prime items in the 'if it matters' list.
SCL are probably regional to be honest - although there's probably similar sellers of useless tat all over the UK.+1 for the above (ish).
I buy nothing from Autodoc - everytime I or one of my customers have - the stuff has just been wrong.
SCL - I had to google who they were.
ECP - yes I have bought from them - and still do - but not often - they are "the supplier of last resort" if I am to honest!

I think the problem is that the people that sell the stuff know nothing about what it does, what's good or bad about it and why it makes a difference, so they'll still sell you the 'value range' stuff beloved by the (usually Eastern European) 'kerbside mechanics' because it's a fast mover so must be good, right? - when all you want is optimum quality parts that will perform to specification for a suitable length of time, at a price that is acceptable - and crucially, made by the manufacturer the packaging claims it to be.
I fit my own stuff so I want best value. I try to search out true oem parts at the best prices but it's getting harder as the oem names are bought and their products become tat. My recent purchase from autodoc has me questioning their stuff as Ubique mentions above. I'd not used them before apart from one purchase which was as it should have been. The quality of car parts are being driven down by the people that are buying them.
Everybody has wanted cheap of late. ( bar a few people - the minority)
So all they sell is cheap.
So all the stock is cheap.
And in the end - all they make is cheap.
I would agree with this.I fit my own stuff so I want best value. I try to search out true oem parts at the best prices but it's getting harder as the oem names are bought and their products become tat.
I was rebuilding a merc 307 at the time , got used to the parts people , asked the delivery driver why was he doing a van to van in xxx layby , oh we get a load of parts from another firm , all marked up with logo etc but a lot cheaper ...and that was from the horses mouth so to speak.SCL are probably regional to be honest - although there's probably similar sellers of useless tat all over the UK.

Friends don't let friends buy EBC.EBC , bit more spendy but a choice of grade as well .buy british
Wow , seems EBC has gone to the dogs
I would agree with this.
Have been doing my own repairs and services for quite a while. This at least gives me the chance to have a look at what I’ve bought before it’s fitted and have a view on “do I trust this”. Even if it turns out to be wrong after it’s on, I can change it.
It’s a different story for people that use a garage and don’t have that option without an argument over having to pay to have it corrected.
