Parweld XTM 211Di multiprocess machine. An overview.

Nice writeup, thanks for taking the time to do so The torches supplied look like the top end ergo type torches that Parweld sell, and as such, they are decent enough quality for professional use. Really nice to see them supply the torches with the multiple button control pads included - being able to adjust amps on the fly is something I don't think I could live without, these days.

All in all, it looks like an awful lot of high-end kit that's all designed to work nicely together, for not a terrible price

I have a reciept for the bottles I got. I picked mine up from a locker and I assume it is done on an exchange basis, drop empty off and pick up the full. There were 10 or so bottles in the cabinets and all were of similar condition. There is some legal guidance on how often they have to be tested blah blah blah. I doubt the supplier will provide many issues as they are quite a well known brand and as soon as they start causing issues like that there are plenty of competitors I can take my business to.

There is lots of information regarding gas in the relevant section on the forum. But here's a link. I'll try and keep this thread to information regarding the welder and its abilities/my experience with it as it helps keep the forum tidy and the thread from wandering too far off topic

That was my thinking when I looked in to the prices. I was thinking of the bohler but just foresaw future spending with a second welder and its set up. The combined cost of the bohler and a second unit for the AC tig would have been far more expensive than the parweld on it's own.
Happy with my purchase but only time and experience will say if it was the right choice (feeling confident so far though)

Yep looked at mine this morning and does have a marking around the wire feed motor.

But not fussed too much.

As you can see my stuff is still boxed,
Need to get to play with it.

Wow. Ok. So we have 2 units already with some marks inside... This doesn't look good on quality inspection really.
Yes it's not a piece of art that will be hanging on the wall but still... Factory quality should be targeted high so no visual flaws suggest other issues.

Yeah it's only a scuffed bit of metal.. doesnt affect the products functionality but it just doesnt give the best impression when you spend that amount of money on a brand new machine. I'm thrilled with my purchase but as first impressions go when you open up your new bit of kit it takes a little of the sparkle away

If it was painted metal, it would be an issue, but it's just a scuff in the galv that's not even on display. They have to keep the costs down somehow

Seriously though, comparing this machine to its direct rival, the Esab 205 - maybe the Esab is better finished, but it's over £1000 more! And it already has a horrible rep for reliability/repair.
I think I'd personally take this machine over it all day. and I'm generally a brand snob.

Hey up I'm new on here so first of all wanna say Hi to everyone. I'm thinking of buying one these machines (XTM211 Di) mainly for small workshop use Mig and occasional Tig use. I come across some YouTube clips etc. but could not find any reviews how it's actually performes. How good are synergic settings etc. Could any of you guys share your experience with the machine?

Purchased in 08/2020, from Tom @ Welding Supplies Direct, and can’t fault his service. Used mainly on Stainless MIG up until recently, it’s had around 35kg of wire through it. Hadn’t got around to trying the TIG functions out.

But, it’s just gone back to Parweld to be repaired. No welding output on any of the settings.

Other than that, it was a good machine, easy to use, easy to set up. Used daily, in a clean ish area of the workshop.

I’ll await the outcome, but for a machine to die inside of 6 months doesn’t fill me with confidence.

Cheers for that info @steviec_lj, was offered a good deal on one of these just before my swp digi mig went and stopped wire feeding unit ok in every other way. Was toying with the idea of getting one, maybe not now.

Parweld received the unit back, and apparently couldn’t find anything wrong with it. But, they’ve replaced it so a new machine should arrive soon.

Had to use the ESAB which was sat next to it for the job, which performed without fault, and has had a lot more hammer than the Parweld.

I suppose there's a hidden cost to the cheaper end machines - having said that, I've read of loads of failures of Esab Rebels... and they certainly aren't cheap!

Welder returned this morning.

The apparent “no faults found” was utter BS, main inverter at fault.

Be interesting to see if they honour the warranty if and when this one goes down.

Just thought I would give an update on the machine. Since taking ownership I have completed a fair few projects. I havent done loads of welding compared to a lot of people on here but it has been winter!

The welder hasnt skipped a beat for me. I have put around 10kg of mild steel wire through using the MIG function, used 2 (small) bottles of argon on the TIG side (10L at 200bar new) and now on my third doing a mix of mild s and aluminium.

Overall I'm extremely pleased. I havent needed more power than the machine can provide. The mig torch still has the original consumables on it and barely has marks of use (I do wipe it down at the end of each day). I did replace the tig torch consumables (cups and tungstens) after a few weeks due to my own stupidity..

I did find myself accidentally adjusting the MIG settings quite a lot. I'll notice some changes to the weld, glance at the machine and notice that I have accidentally held down the voltage or wire speed buttons on the handle and cause it to weld like crap.
I have taken to wearing a thinner glove on my torch hand so I can maintain some resemblance of feeling and this has solved the issue for me.

The syn settings have mostly been spot on, I rarely have to adjust anything and even then my technique was probably the thing that needed adjusting.

Looking forward to being able to use this machine long in to the future, only time will tell how reliable it will be but I will update here if I have any issues.

@Jbo2231 thanks for your write-up and update, I've been looking around at new welders for a while now. I don't do that much welding so replacing my old MIG was hard enough to justify but getting into TIG as well was really pushing it.

I'd come across the Miller Multimatic 220 AC/DC and it seemed ideal, a great solution for getting into multiprocess...until I found it's not CE approved so not available in the UK.

Stumbled across the Parweld but as you said the info out there is pretty sparse. So thanks again, I'm off to do some buying now as it looks like it'll be an ideal unit for me

Slight aside but just bought one of these to replace my Cifes mig - anyone got an English user manual for it?

I can find every language but and Parweld UK don't even list the machine on their website yet.

On the other hand everything looks very well put together, good quality torches, even the arc welding clamps are very good quality with machined/vee'd out solid copper clamping blocks. I can't fault it if it performs as well as it looks screwed together.
