That`s a nice rifle you got there.
I had a HW80 for years, was my pride and joy and I`ve had a softspot for Weihrauch`s ever since. Their very well made guns.
I was going to get one of those HW100`s but they were out of my price range at the time, so ended up buying a secondhand Super 10 and haven`t looked back. PCP`s are the way forward

Pneumatics are nicer to shoot, no more accurate use same barrels as springers.
Made 21 pneumatics over the years last ones been on hold since end of March 2003.
Dont be frightened off by the expensive kit, not talking about HW100 price one good copper has a scope five times the HW100 value alone plus gun.
Got same scope due in three weeks on an seriously modded Anchutz 9003 best part of £7k.
All the same having gone through it, nothing better than beating the big boys with cheap stuff, cost me £85 to make up to 2005 and used to shoot for the region.

Not in the same league as some of you guys ,but having 2 boys we had a cheap smk springer for a while then i bought a qb78.....i've had almost as much fun modifying it as shooting it,its powered off 2 co2 sparklets,cost less than £100 and there are some great power mods online ,they can be bulk filled and some people have converted to pnuematic as well,i bought a chrony and found it was running about 10ft/lbs so i started tweaking and fetling took it to nearly 18ft/lbs 
before bringing it back down to 11.5ft/lbs 
....loads of fun even with factoring in co2 i still found it a cheap introduction ,now the boys are older and discovered girls i may have a bash at hunter field target where you not allowed to reset scope ,during your shoot so rely on holdover/under rather than rangefinding scopes etc

Its the wind and trajectory that make FT, take that away its boring to me.
Of course the wind has a greater affect after 45 yards, the max HFT range and so does the trajectory. Nothing like picking up your pellet some 4" off around 50 yards and seeing is veer in to the kill.
There again with that HFT you have lads spending several grand - £1900 for base gun then modding +£500 plus over 1k for scope. Was meant to be a back to basics sport with i quote "basic equipment."

At least shooting is a sport that this country does well in,hopefully this will demonstrated at the next olympics........quick question,is there a specified weight of pellet for setting the power of a rifle .22 in my case ,could never get a clear answer and all i wanted to do was to get close to legal without exceeding it?....wish i still had a field behind my house ,lost my testing ground when i moved house

Answer is no...
The ft/lbs power is calculated with the weight of the pellet being fired.
Usually with a heavier pellet, more of the energy from the gun is transfered to it.(probably because it stays in the barrel longer).
The calculation is made from the muzzle velocity(fps) and the weight of the projectile.
To be legal, set up the gun with a heavy pellet, then switch to your favourite brand / whatever your gun prefers.
My Super10 loves "Field n Target Trophy".
My old HW80 loved "Milbro Caledonian ".
The rabbits and squirrels don`t tho

Many thanks V8,basically confirming what i had been told at the local gunshop,i haven't shot in nearly 3 years (since i moved),i think i set gun up on 14-15gr pellets originally .The slight confusion came from finding pellets up to 17gr, add to that co2 can increase in pressure if warmed ,i had originally thought there would be a standard test procedure used by the police to check the gun ie a specified test weight of pellet and the test conducted at a given temperature..
...my modifications reduced the amount of overall shots from the co2 sparklets,but gave more stable results over the reduced number of shots.. was very happy with the rifle as a cheapy could easily be modified to give good power and accuracy for pocket money prices,a great little rifle and didn't embarrass me against my mates theoben but cost 8 times less....if anyone is interested i bought a knockdown target with a string reset ,which i can take some photo's of could quite easily be made also made some spinners and target holders but not sure where they are

me so much grief. These birds are very nervous and having prowling felines climbing over aviries is a big no no for me.Sorry Again but thats my take on it

Causing harm to Domestic cats in the UK is most definitely against the law and I'm pretty sure it will be the same in Eire and Northern Ireland. Even if you think the cat is feral, you would need more than the reason you have "nervous birds" as a legal defence for your actions.
It's hard enough fighting the Shooters rights without giving people ammo, to fire back at us

Here you go Wyn,the hole is 40mm,i was going to make up different plates to reduce the size,the spinners i made (can't find them ) were double ended versions of the yellow part with different sizes top and bottom and the pivot point offset to ensure it returned to vertical ,easily attached to ground spikes and set at different distances .....think i paid £15 ish for the knock down as i didn't have a workshop at time

Who ever wanted info on power, off the shelf pneumatics tend do put more power out with heavy pellets, so beware. Theres less than a handfull around that do same power any pellet and ive got three here.
To work out muzzle energy its:- Pellet speed X pellet speed X pellet weight) Divided By 450240
Eg rifle doing 600 ft/sec using 14.3gr pellets would equal 600 X 600 X 14.3 Divide That By 450240 In this case works out to 11.43 ft/lb
