Mates Czech Tatra truck.
V8 air cooled petrol. Sounds lovely.
NiceThis is rare for the U.K at least I haven’t seen another of this model in the U.K. it’s my 1953 3600 truck. It has an unbroken record of breaking down on every trip. 3 times today but found the problem with the fuel lines blocked with rust.

It is always thus although not the point of your post!!. I followed a **** today - had his GF/Wife whatever on the back perched on the 2” square “seat” ; he spent a mile or so warming up his tyres and then started making ridiculous overtakes on the line of traffic. I was in the Tesla and when we got to the dual carriage and it was time to accelerate I didn’t overtake him so he could retain some dignity2 loonies on a MC, the one on the back is the loonier

Yes it is For extra safety. Don’t want the petrol getting cold or damp by putting under the car!Is that the model where the gas tank was behind the seat ?
My 1950 3100 has the same arrangement. here's a 'work in progress' photo of the firewall that I made in the hope of avoiding a future DIY cremation. Is that the model where the gas tank was behind the seat ?

I know that fitting a tank under the rear of the truck is a popular mod, but I wanted to keep the factory spare wheel mounting setup.
