My drill has a recess it fits into nicely and while I have quite a lot of light in the workshop it’s handy to have a bit more in some cases.
I've seen these and was turned off by the fact they are battery driven. What components did you order so you could power it from mains? Also, does the laser need adjusting depending on the thickness of what you are working on/whether you raise or lower the table?And then finally the laser.

And I do use it. It's not super accurate but I find in handy to know to about 1mm where the drill will go just helps position things a touch quicker.
The unit is fine but it blocked my light slightly (still plenty of light but I don't like the bodge look it had) and I wanted it mains so I slightly adjusted it...
