I found a used, badly advertised volumair hvlp kit on eBay for £30, best bit of spray equipment I've used.

There's a reason all the furniture makers use turbine sprayers, far superior.

If you don't get on with the compressor route, sell it all and buy a turbine.

As mentioned above, the Volumair unit was the one that introduced me to proper HVLP. Have you seen the prices being asked for new ones nowadays? Fair made me blink. 30 quid is a steal, but nobody knows how good they are and tend to lump them all in with the budget cheapy Apollo ones. The more expensive Apollo sprayers are pretty good, actually.
If I could find a cheap Volumair locally, I'd snap the seller's hand off, so quick would I grab it.
