Plumbing olives

Some hard brass olives don't crimp well and can be persuaded to come off with little effort

I got a callout to a new house on Wynyard park the footballers lived up very posh there big no hot water apart from the bath 4 ensuites kitchen and utility room no hot water just cold from both taps all carpeted on the Friday and they moved in on the Saturday the boiler and tank were red hot turned the watermain off and every tap went off I said do u want the bad news they haver plumbed all the hot taps on to the cold feed and no one had tested the system .the folks were in tears. they were all tiled and chipboard floors . someone would get a rocketing for that one

^^^^^so they where swaped over hot and cold ? or some one took the feed from the cold some where thinking it was the hot pipe ?

someone had connected them all to the cold feed pipes apart from the bath house was brand new but been empty for a few month till it was sold so obviously it never got tested up and running when completed .when I 1st went it was the boiler not working and mixed the wires up I sorted that no probs and boiler was running fine and tank heating up . was just the next day they rang up to say no water still and that's what I found

id bet they try to surface mount the pipes to reconect

with luck they can get the original guy that knows where he made the connections
