i dout the bloke would keep going at that pace yea could do for a few hours at slow pace the bloke with the petrol strimmer could do it for 8 hours as long as the fuel was there

They've not moved since, till this evening.

No rush! Just done a lad I know a favour and sent two Audi GT bumpers from Sevenoaks to Scotland. Bit of a mission "wrapping". Never wrapped anything so big.

I find using the scythe is easier than the strimmer: about the same amount of effort either way, and (for grass) the scythe is twice the speed.
The bloke in the video is putting waaaay too much effort in: you use the weight and momentum of the tool to do the work.
Tbf: unless you're actually masochistic, you wouldn't try to use one for 8 hours. We have combine harvesters nowadays.

Twenty / thirty years ago, more likely thirty, our ancient neighbour, in France used to do his garden with a scythe, like shaving his face. He asked my brother one day, which rabbit it his rabbit hutches, he liked, he pointed to the big, fluffy one.
He pulled it out, decapitated it, in one fell swoop, and said, you can have this for your dinner.

Back in the good old days...
Bread in the bread oven, hand made baskets from willow / hazel, I don't remember, and it was his home made cider. This was 30 years ago, it's all changed, since.

years ago), there was an old polish bloke who used to be the local gardener."Mr Crazy Horse" we called him: Krzysiak I think, actually.
Anyway: he used to ride from job to job on a push bike, carrying a scythe over his shoulder.
Used to cut lawns like they'd been done with a mower, in a quarter of the time. Then he'd do the hedges as well.
