Not sure I understand these little powerpack things? - I've got a huge-old-bmw-car-battery on standby (on a trolley) for using with jumpleads when the cars are at home; agreed it's not exactly portable - but do those little things outperform a spare fully charged car battery?

In my experience, yes (given the circumstances mentioned above)
Pro: very small and can sit in the car all year round (as long as you remember to recharge it every few weeks)
Con: one start and it’s done, and needs to be recharged

reminds me of my first ever visit to an Aldi (or maybe Lidl) - left with a free range chicken, Heinz tomato soup, six pack of beer, sledgehammer and chainsaw chains
The banana will probably be a better conductor than the jump leads, I cringe when I see folk Trying to jum cars with what might as well be 1mm flex with clothes pegs either end.

Tbf the leads I've got from there before have been spot on up to and including 2.0L petrol.
Our manager had a parasitic drain on the battery of his Audi A8. he knew he wouldn't start it come going home time. He got one of the Micro jump starts that we sell and charged it up. The rest of us were sceptical and stood about watching to see it fail. It started as if there was a new battery on it!!!! And it wouldn't even put the interior lights on.
Whilst I'm sure they are better than nothing and will transfer a bit of charge if you leave them connected to a running car they are as I thought, I just had a quick Google
There is a limit to how much copper £9.00 is going to buy you.
But for that price like I said better than nothing.

I bought one of the Lidl starters & I too was skeptical about this tiny thing being any good.
When I bought my 306 HDI diesel it came with a knackered battery. Whilst I was working on it pre mot I used the Lidl starter to start the car & it could start a diesel with a completely dead battery 3 times before it needed charged again.

Has lights as well.
Spec is likely overstated but certainly all well made.
