can you actually access the Arcon site?
Hi.
I have an Powcon 400 SMT that havent been used for several years. Do anyone have a manual for this machine to share?
Thinking of to get it running on 230v 1-fase, don´t have 380v at my garage. It is connected to a 16 amp and 380v plug.
What do you think, should still be enough to weld with 2,5 mm rods, correct?

When running on single phase, the 300 Amp machines are downgraded to 200 A - still more than adequate for 2.5mm rods.

Instruction manual for PowCon 400SM?
I was just given a PowCon 400SM welder and would appreciate a source for an instruction manual. My first requirement is to properly connect the primary for 230 single phase so if anyone knows that scheme, it will ge greatly appreciated. It appears to be currently set for 230 3 phase based on...

Ive just found the invoice for the one I purchased in 2018 from a local auction. I paid the grand sum of £40.65 including vat and fees, but depends on what you are willing to pay for a welder you cant try. I did have to replace the filter caps inside

That is a coincidence,
I picked up a 300SS a month or so ago,
I was wondering if it was of any use as a stick welder,
It has no leads with it, that should not present to much of a problem,
I would need to change it to 240v single phase, which lowers its output as said above,
Would anyone have a link to a pdf manual please, TYIA

Looking at the front grill the first thing to do would be take the case apart and clean the dust out

Yes, I will take your advise and take the top cover off, and give the unit a de-dust.
Having removed the top cover, the conversion from 3 phase to single phase electrical supply is very well documented inside the unit.
I will need to get myself a electrode clamp and a some electrodes to be able to give it a test weld.
The Dinse plug is 12.7mm 35/50 size.
I have seen a few twist type handles on eBay to look at.

I have wired the supply lead as described in the manual to convert from 3 phase, to single phase 240, hopefully,
32 amp blue plug,
Green wire to earth,
White wire to neutral,
Black wire to live,
Red wire insulated/discarded,
Now to change the buss bars etc inside the unit.

The inside of the PowCon 300SS is quite clean, just storage dust,

I have had the PowCon working today, it didn't blow up,
It is running from a 32 amp supply,
But doesn't seem to weld properly,
Lacking power !!!
It does not sound right either,
The video may give some insight.
Would anyone have any thoughts on what the problem may be ???
