Sorry you had to get rid of the boat..... Iam currently looking for one myself to live on full time. Looking at maybe a grp cruiser or something in the 20 odd foot range

I reckon you will soon get sick if living on a 20 foot boat, that's very small when you take the construction into consideration and how much usable space there actually is available

Well a buddy has a 30 foot one called tilly and he has plenty of room....its just for me as iam single and only for a few years hopefully just trying to get some pennies together for it

Over on a sailing forum, there are peeps who live on 20ft yachts. Compared to motor cruisers, they have tiny cabins and make small narrow boats look positively luxurious.

Yep, and condensation is another problem. One guy lived for a couple of years on a swinging mooring....

You did the right thing selling this project. Hope you didn't loose too much. Next go buy a new ready built shell in and do the fit out instead IMO . You can actually earn a tidy sum doing this, fixing up boats that need masses doing ant transporting / storage etc.? pretty much money down the drain IMO. I re-built one that got sunk in a lock last year though it stayed on the cut the whole time on a private mooring (about 100 yards down from Hapton actually). That put about 20k equity into the thing for the owners after buying it of the insurance and all the works and it now earns a living as a restaurant / day trip boat.
Boats are a hole in the water you pour money into if your not very, very careful.
Interesting read would love to here if the new owner finishes it, gets it certified and back on the water
