They used seals that are incompatible with the gas they are designed for?

The seal for the brass stinger sticking down is indeed down in the top of the bottle but the seal that could be the culprit is the rubber flat washer (sometimes cork) that remains with the torch head and unless it has been replaced before it is the same age as your torch. be warned ive known mapp gas bottles to leak after unscrewing them as ive used them for a very long time
its no fun getting to a job to find that your gas bottle has leaked and you have no gas to start the job
but my usage is often, only time it dosnt get used is when its holiday time 2-3 weeks or not used over the weekend so im not a casual user
ive taken the mickey out of the mechanics using a plumbers blow lamp as there a casual user whilst the rest are diy users
