I would like the correct fittings but am just unsure what are the correct fittings
You can buy all sorts of adaptors, but it's cheaper and neater to stick to one thread standardthey are taper! http://www.screwfix.com/p/pcl-airfl...et/4118h#product_additional_details_container
do they sell a BSPP to BSPT adaptor?
123Hotchef, you always move subjects that I'm interested in! I've never had leaky joints and when I assembled my air filter assembly they all leaked!
So which joints can come together? I would have thought that tapered vs parelled is ok as you still have a tapered side which will tighten against the parallel joint.
To ensure a decent pressure tight joint always use the same fitt
The gas PTFE stuff isn't good. When I worked as a plumber, two decades ago, we were told not to use gas PTFE even on gas fittings because it doesn't seal properly. One of the many regulations that we were told to ignore.
I was going to ask this as well, so Loctite 572 is semi-permanent? Will it mean that my valves and garden tap will stop turning around in it's flange if I use 572 instead of PTFE?

Or lead/steel hydraulic fittings!Often I find it easiest to weld fittings together to get the required adaptor. Pop them together in a vice, a quick bead round then you're sorted.
Doesn't really work on malleable iron or brass...
