Have you seen this group?

I'm not sure of the type of carb on your crawler but if it has a brass float have you checked to see if it's got a hole in it?
is there space to adjust the lever that moves the needle , some are bent to a certain distance off the face , this may be the case , have a chat to the owners group , or see if theres a rebuild manual on the carb , zama and the likes use this system and have a small gauge for setting the heigts.
its not so much of a lever as the bend you put on the lever ,, hope that makes sense ,,, post a pic if you have it in bits .No there’s no adjustment lever for the needle. I’ll take the carb off again to have another look

They have some questions which I can’t see so apparently I’m unable to post. Typical Facebook mini-dictatorship. Stick to the forum, it’s happier on here too
Carb is at a repair shop. Really cool place stuffed full of old motorbikes, a Lancia Beta and two old guys who were apparently talking about how nobody had walked in with something old and weird in a while. Allow me to introduce myself, gentlemen![]()
Just make up any old drivel,Only if you are already a twitface member? They almost want to know which hand you use when wiping your —— so they can collect every detail about you to sell on to any one who wants your information. I, for one, will not divulge all my personal information to a load of s—-s like them.

Odd question, as I am driven along.
The donky engines at my mates farm used to get air leaks on the inlet manifold, start run and soon cut out.
I guess you checked for that?
WD 40 works as wellYes, all sealed with fresh paper gaskets and hylomar. The exhaust does leak a little, but not enough to inhibit starting… will buy some easy start today
