Either way its a gamble.
If BMW want to use a roll pin instead of a more serviceable solution could have been used....
Or better still give it to the twonk that "assessed" it to get out, they might change their mind then.
Wouldn't want to take one of their bikes off the beaten track. Imagine trying to get that repaired in the back of beyond by a guy with a welder and a hammer.
