I worked for a firm in the 80s that had one as a works van, fastest thing on “3 wheels“ I have ever been in
Remember in the early ‘80’s pulling in for petrol in Baldocks ,Wivelsfield green, this r5 refuelling,a 2 seater, lump of an engine in the back,it was eye popping, driver stated it had 750 hp,I was 18/19,and believed him.
I put a Gordini engine into one. It makes a nice noise and goes faster but I prefer the standard cars. There is something satisfying about flooring the throttle all the time and still having a relaxing drive.I had a thing about Renaults from an early age. I had involvement with a few, from 4s to 16s, via the 8s and 10s.
Always fancied putting one of the larger (or more powerful Gordini) lumps into a 4.
Wow,I went there from 1969-1973!Are you from round there Nick? I went to primary school in South Chailey, amongst others, my parents moved a lot

...I had to scrap it when the rear tyres were visible from inside the boot
I bought my MGA from a guy in Inverkeilor. He was importing them from the states and had a barn full of rusty exotics. For another £3k I could have bought an e-type or a big Healey! Of course I didn't have another £3k. And they would have cost more to patch up because Morris bits wouldn't fit.Yeah we had a 4 when I lived up Nr Arbroath.. Friockheim ...it was ace in the snow great little cars ...
I've got plenty of them already!
Duct tape to be double sure?^ The brake pipe will hold it!
